FM 2808 to close for work

Texas Department of Transportation officials report that Farm to Market Road 2808 near Kempner will be closed to traffic Nov. 13.

Heavy rainfall in early spring and summer damaged a culvert and drain pipe that must be removed and replaced. The pipe is located about 1.3 miles south of U.S. Highway 190.

Crews from TxDOT's Lampasas maintenance section will do the demolition and replacement.

Maintenance supervisor Will Mulhollan estimates the project will take about eight hours to complete. The road will be closed by 8 a.m. and reopened by 5 p.m.

Motorists who use FM 2808 should leave earlier than usual to avoid the construction zone or allow additional travel time for an alternate route.
