Edward Jones to host Wednesday course Ken McDaniel, an Edward Jones financial adviser in Lampasas, will host a professional broadcast course, "Annual Estate Tax Update" for CPAs, tax professionals and attorneys on Wednesday at 1 p.m. at 410 S. Live Oak. The program is designed to provide practitioners with an annual update regarding legislative, regulatory and case law developments as they impact estate planning. Panelists will address new developments and estate-planning opportunities. Topics to be covered during the panel discussion include current estate tax reform efforts with extensive coverage of any new legislation; planning opportunities for the shifting tax estate environment; using insurance to reduce estate taxes and increase value to descendants; and using wills and trusts to preserve family assets, achieve family goals and avoid or reduce the gift and estate tax. Also, best-practice use for revocable and irrevocable trusts, irrevocable life insurance trusts, intentionally defective grantor trusts and other estate- and gift-planning options. The course is approved for three credit hours of continuing professional education for CPAs and tax professionals. State accreditation varies for attorneys.
