FFA, 4-H to host goat show
      Lampasas FFA and 4-H will sponsor a goat clinic for all youths in Lampasas and neighboring counties Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at the Lampasas County Livestock Showbarn. The free clinic will be conducted by Cliff and Danine Brister of Sonora.

Church slates Sunday concert
      School Creek Baptist Church, 11268 CR 3420, will host The Messengers in concert Sunday at 5 p.m. The four-member group has several gospel albums out and has earned awards for their musicianship. The public is invited to attend.

Democrats from Burnet to meet

Support group plans to gather
      A support group for those diagnosed with myasthenia gravis, an autoimmune neuromuscular disorder, has been initiated by the Central Texas Support Group of the Northwest Texas Chapter of the Myasthenia Gravis Foundation of America.

Bell ringers sought by Salvation Army
      Salvation Army volunteers are gearing up for another season of bell-ringing to raise funds to assist Lampasas County for the year. Bell-ringers will be in front of Wal-Mart from Nov. 23 to Dec. 22. Phone Sue Burgdorfer at 734-5379 to schedule a time to volunteer.

Church to host concert event
      The Isaacs, a family gospel group that has traveled for more than 30 years, will perform at the next Concert Series presented by San Saba's First Baptist Church. The concert is Saturday at 6 p.m. at the church at 208 W. Wallace. Doors will open at 5 p.m.

      Parents of preschoolers: Lampasas Public Library will have two story times this month -- Nov. 14 ("Turkeys Galore") and Nov. 28, ("Snoopy Rules!"). Annual lock-up
      A number of Lampasas citizens were jailed for a good cause recently during the annual Muscular Dystrophy Association's Lock-up. The program raises funds for research and support for those with muscular dystrophy.

      A chili dinner fund-raiser is set Nov. 17 from noon to 2 p.m. at Grace Fellowship, 2974 U.S. Highway 281 South to benefit Lampasas Mission. All-you-can-eat chili and homemade cobbler is $5 per ticket, available at First Baptist Church office, Lampasas Builders Mart or Shooting Star Books & Gifts.

Toddler wins pageant honors
      Chloe Elaine Thorp was a recent contestant in the Sunburst Beauty Pageant & Model Search. She received a trophy for Best Attire and was crowned queen in her age division of 1-year-olds, earning her a tiara, red queen sash, a four-foot trophy and her state pageant fees paid to Houston in May.

      Lampasas County Texas Parks and Wildlife Game Warden Jeff Hill reviewed hunting rules and regulations and discussed the upcoming deer season at the annual Adamsville Game Warden Appreciation Dinner.
