Appraisers' workshop on tap Dec. 5-9

The American Society of Agriculture Appraisers will offer a four-day Personal Property Appraisal Seminar in Dallas/Fort Worth Dec. 5-9.

The seminar is the only course of its kind approved by the Appraiser Qualifications Board in Washington, D.C., and meets the 35 hours of the core education requirements of the Personal Property Appraiser Minimum Qualifications Criteria adopted by the AQB.

It is expected the AQB's Personal Property Appraiser Minimum Qualification Criteria will eventually become the national, minimum standard that personal property appraisers will be required to meet when working for professional businesses such as banks, insurance companies, attorneys, CPAs and various government agencies.

The ASAA seminar is designed for those who desire to enter the livestock, farm equipment and/or horse appraisal field, and for those already doing agricultural, personal property appraisals.

Seminar topics include principals of appraising, methods for determining value, market research and analysis, methods for adjusting value differences between subject properties and their comparable properties, how to write three types of appraisal reports used by all professional appraisers and when and how to use them, and how to establish a personal property appraisal business.

Credit earned may be applied toward meeting the AQB's Personal Property Appraiser Minimum Qualification Criteria. For more information, phone (800) 488-7570 or visit www.amagappraisers. com.
