County jail bond will raise taxes

For all of you who signed the petition back in July to the county judge and Commissioners Court seeking a bond election for $20 million to build a jail and annex extension, we urge you to get out and cast your vote.

We believe the judge and commissioners should consider a less expensive alternative.

By the way, have you looked at your tax statement recently mailed to you? If not, you need to take a look. Do you think we can afford any higher taxes? One might wonder what our taxes would be if this bond election is passed.

Early voting is going on now through Nov. 2. Election Day is Nov. 6. We urge you to get out and vote.
