Bake sale event set
      Lometa's American Legion Auxiliary will hold a bake sale Nov. 2 from 8 a.m. to noon at the red light in Lometa. Sugar-free goodies will be available. Proceeds will be used to send Lometa girls to Bluebonnet Girls' State next year.

Burial service is Saturday
      A burial service for Wayne Porter is Oct. 27 at 11 a.m. at Long Cove Cemetery with the Rev. Gordon Hightower officiating. Everyone is invited to join the family for a picnic lunch under the tabernacle following the service.

Church plans stew dinner
      Lometa United Methodist Church will have its Awesome Autumn Stew dinner Nov. 3 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the church, 100 S. Second St. Cost is $5 for adults, and $3 for children 10 and under. The meal consists of stew, cornbread, dessert and a drink.
