Church's pumpkin sales fund-raiser continues

First United Methodist Church's annual Pumpkin Patch is open for visitors, with most of the church families on hand last weekend to help unload the 300-plus gourds and hay.

The patch is open daily from 3-5 p.m. weekdays until Tuesday; Saturday, noon to 7 p.m.; and Sunday, 1:30-7 p.m.

Field trips to the patch for homeschoolers can be arranged by contacting Youth Pastor Becky Jackson at 556-5513.

Pumpkin sales help the church fund its projects and events, including its Wednesday lunch study, summer mission camps and an Adopted Troop program, in which the church hopes to prepare 400 Christmas gift boxes for soldiers overseas.

Volunteers can contact the church office.
