DAR greets new members

Killeen's Ensign Thomas Huling Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas held its monthly meeting at Stone Tree Restaurant.

Opening prayer was given by Mary Lou Smith, registrar, due to the absence of Peggy Parsons, chaplain.

The American Creed was read in unison by members. Pledges to the American and Texas flags were led by Carol Verbeek, and minutes from the previous meeting were approved with revisions.

Ms. Smith reported that Loretta Woehrle would be sending her papers to national to be approved. Heather Wisham and Vivian Powers will be voted on for membership.

Linda Timmerman showed the magnetic signs to be used on the Veterans Day Parade car. Annie Roe Buckley, the only founding member present, gave the program.
