SPORTS SHORTS TRAIL RIDE A Saddle Up trail ride benefiting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is scheduled for Nov. 10 at the Divided by 3 West Ranch in Kempner. The ride will start at the Divided by 3 West and encompass 10 total miles, circling through the Hoffpauir Ranch. Participants and attendees will help raise funds for the organization which helps children with diseases such as cancer, AIDS and sickle cell anemia. GOLF TOURNAMENTS The Highland Lakes Family Crisis Center has scheduled its 24th annual golf tournament for Nov. 3 at Delaware Springs Golf Course in Burnet. The four-person scramble is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. with a shotgun start. An awards ceremony is scheduled for 6 p.m. along with a fajita dinner and live auction. RUNNING The Lampasas High School cross country teams were scheduled to play host to the District 25-4A Meet on Monday at 10 a.m. Results will be posted today on www.lampasasdispatchrecord.com and will appear in Friday's print edition. * San Saba County 4-H Club's Pecan Bottom Run is scheduled for Nov. 10. Registration begins at 8 a.m., and the race will start at 9 a.m. Runners and walkers can choose between distances of three miles, five kilometers and 10 kilometers.
