8th-grade Blue 9-3 after 2 more wins

The Lampasas Middle School eighth-grade Blue team won both of its matches last week.

The Blue, which is 9-3 on the year, rallied for a 25-27, 25-17, 25-15 win against Hill Country Middle School.

"The girls got down in Game 1 and then caught fire," coach Beth Rutland said. "They never let up for the rest of the night. We had some amazing serving and also recorded 20 kills. The girls are really playing together."

It carried over to a 25-9, 25-20 win over Marble Falls.

"The girls played hard all night and stayed ahead for an important victory," Rutland said.

LMS 8th White def. Marble Falls: The White team took a cue from the Blue and dominated Marble Falls 25-19, 25-10.

"These girls are really showing improvements in passing the ball and communication," Rutland said. "We are serving tough and scoring points from the service line."
