Rollover injures two women

Two women received minor injuries as a result of a rollover Friday afternoon on U.S. Highway 183 about four miles northwest of Lampasas.

After two pickup trucks drove on the shoulder to pass a southbound pickup towing a travel trailer, Crystal Watson of Killeen attempted to pass the pickup in a 2003 Chevrolet Trail Blazer.

Ms. Watson drifted to the right, lost control and skidded across the highway in front of the pickup and trailer, said Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Jimmy Chesnut.

"Once it left the road, it was your classic rollover," the trooper said. The vehicle dropped a right wheel, went sideways and rolled three times, Chestnut said.

Ms. Watson and her right-front passenger, Megan Kylberg of Georgetown, were transported to Rollins Brook Community Hospital.

Both were wearing seat belts at the time of the accident, and preliminary assessments indicated the women sustained minor injuries, Chesnut said.
