36 Club meeting gathers
The GFWC/TFWC 36 Club met Oct. 11 at the Hancock Springs Hostess House with 19 members present, including new member Maryanne Severn. Hostesses were Linda Hutcherson, Virginia Blaylock and Beverly Wood.
President Crystal Hammett conducted the club's business.
Mrs. Blaylock, federation counselor, announced dates for the Capitol District Fall Board Meeting in Hico.
The Lampasas County Historical Commission invited members to today's "Ghosts of Lampasas County" presentation at 7 p.m. at the courthouse. Local community members will portray pioneers in the program organized by Janie Potts.
Carol Davis introduced LISD teacher Janet Melton who introduced three of her oral readers. The girls read alternately about southern women, which was amusing and entertaining. Robyn Wilmore, Daphne Velez and Brittney Metheny were the visitors.
Next meeting is Nov. 8. Members should meet at First Street Church of Christ for a light lunch at 11:30 a.m., followed by a carpool to Goldthwaite for a program by Annette Leverett at Kreations.
Hostesses will be Ann Johnson, Suzanne Tooley and Gladys Dickison. Reservations must be made by Nov. 5.
