Wedding vows exchanged at Lampasas church
      Courtney Eryn Duhon of Lampasas and Monty Glen Young of McKinney were united in marriage in a July 7, 2007, ceremony at the Hancock Springs Hostess House in Lampasas. Minister Darrell Feemster of New Covenant Church officiated the double-ring ceremony.

      The GFWC/TFWC 36 Club met Oct. 11 at the Hancock Springs Hostess House with 19 members present, including new member Maryanne Severn. Hostesses were Linda Hutcherson, Virginia Blaylock and Beverly Wood. President Crystal Hammett conducted the club's business.

Blood drive to be held
      A free T-shirt will be given to all those donate blood during the final AMVETS Post 80's American Red Cross blood drive of the year set Nov. 5 from 12:30-6:30 p.m. Donors must be at least 17 years old, be in good health, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and not have given blood in the past 56 days.

Pumpkin Patch open each day; annual party set
      First United Methodist Church's annual Pumpkin Patch is open for visitors, with most of the church families on hand last weekend to help unload the 300-plus gourds and hay. The patch is open daily from 3-7 p.m. until Oct. 30.

Project Grad carnival slated
      Project Graduation for the Class of 2008 will host a Fall Carnival Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Lampasas High School track. Face painting, cake walk, football throw, go fish!, hay rides, golf putting, balloons, costume contest and concessions are planned.

      The Army Aviation Association of America (Quad A) has awarded Joshua E. McDaniel a $1,000 scholarship. McDaniel was considered and selected for the scholarship for his academic achievement and as a grandson of the late CWO Dewey C. Little Jr.

      The city of Lampasas Parks and Recreation Department's next movie in the park is "The Transformers," showing Nov. 3 at 6:15 p.m. at W.M. Brook Park. Admission is free. Bring blankets or lawn chairs. Concessions will be available.
