LHS cross country gets final tune-up at Priddy The Lampasas boys' and girls' cross country teams finished second and sixth, respectively, at the Priddy Cross Country Meet on Wednesday. The meet marked the teams' final tuneups for the District 25-4A Meet, which is scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday at LHS. The varsity boys raced in an 11- team field that included Waco Midway and Stephenville. Senior Ryan Tedford led the Lampasas charge, finishing fourth among the 74 runners. The top 15 in each class medaled. David Bloomfield placed 12th, and Brandon Willie finished 13th to account for two of the three Badger medals. Jonathan Lohman took 19th, Andrew Griffin placed 20th, and Michael Fisher completed the 5K course 41st. The varsity girls finished in the top half of the 13-team field without standout Courtney Carpenter, who has been bothered by an ankle injury. Molly Rogers finished 32nd, followed immediately by Jontell Ritz. Tiffany Fagg completed the twomile course 36th. Bethany Brice placed 43rd, and Bailey Chambers finished 78th in the field of 99 runners. For the junior varsity girls, Kristen Martinez finished 22nd, Vanessa Powell placed 27th, Jessica Sterling was 45th, Susie Goodspar 46th and Ravien Reed was 57th. Ninety-one runners were entered in the division. For the junior varsity boys, who tied for second as a team, Lane Christianson finished eighth, Ryan Delacruz placed 11th, Ryan Wiebe was 15th, Rico Delacruz 18th and Corey Pillow 24th in a field of 33. |
