10-year jail sentence given

A 10-year sentence in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice's Institutional Division was handed down in recent action in Judge Joe Carroll's 27th District Courtroom.

Charles James Van Bibber IV, 23, on a charge of deadly conduct, must first attend a boot camp program.

Jesus Gonzalez Jr., 30, was given six years in state jail for driving while intoxicated and felony repetition.

An arrest warrant was issued and bond increased to $50,000 when Lesia Sue Luttrell-Cain, 38, of Liberty, Ky., failed to show up for court. She is charged with delivery of a controlled substance in a drug-free zone.

Six years' deferred adjudication probation was given to Edmund Glenn Thornton, 40, for driving while intoxicated and felony repetition. He must attend a Substance Abuse Felony Program.

In a possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine case against Joseph Randall Jacobs, the 25- year-old was given five years' deferred adjudication probation and fined $100. He must attend a drug and alcohol treatment program.

Carlos John Garza, 32, of Belton was sentenced to four years' deferred adjudication probation and ordered to pay a $1,500 fine for evading arrest with a vehicle.

An adjudication hearing is set today for Jacob Levi Vasquez, 23, for burglary of a habitation.

Jury trials are on the docket Monday for Rayford Wayne Lockett, 42, of Harker Heights for possession of a controlled substance, cocaine; and Carol Taylor, 42, of Lampasas for possession of a controlled substance.

Arraignments are slated Nov. 9 for Jamey Ryan Hole, 20, for burglary of a building; Rocky Dale Rhodes, 55, of Bruceville for theft over $1,500 and under $20,000; Zachary Bothof, 23, of Lampasas for misapplication of trust funds (property code); and Raymond Smith, 18, of Lampasas for theft over $1,500 and under $20,000.

A pretrial hearing is on tap Nov. 9 for Nolanville resident Deanne Locke, 42, for possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine.

Kempner resident Leroy Williamson, 53, is set to enter a plea Nov. 9 for driving while intoxicated and felony repetition.

Sandra Gayle Forshee, 40, of Kempner also will enter a plea on Nov. 9 for possession of a controlled substance.

A pretrial hearing is on the Nov. 16 docket for Candice Elizabeth Pabst, 23, for possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine; and for Albert Alvarado, 26, of Lampasas for possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine.

Punishment is set Nov. 16 for Robert Eric Younggreen, 24, of San Saba on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine. A $500 bond was set and a presentence investigation ordered.

Bobbie Lee Burnham, 42, of San Saba is set to enter a plea on Nov. 16 for possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine. A presentence investigation has been ordered.

Mary Lou Plumley, 46, is set to enter a plea Dec. 7 for possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine. She also has a revocation hearing scheduled that date on a charge of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

George Truitt, 41, of Kempner faces a Dec. 7 plea on a charge of evading arrest with a vehicle. A presentence investigation was ordered.

And a Dec. 10 jury trial is slated for Rogelio Rivera, 25, of Lampasas for possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and bond jumping.
