Lampasas Mission to benefit from two fund-raising events
Lampasas Mission will be the beneficiary of a Halloween costume contest Oct. 27 at 5 p.m. at Wal-Mart.
Character portraits will be $1.
A costume contest is set for those up to age 10.
A haunted house will be open from 5-9 p.m. Other events include a cake walk, games, face painting and a snack bar.

On Nov. 2, a non-perishable food drive and money collection also will be held. Drop-offs will be open at several locations in the community.

A chili dinner fund-raiser is Nov. 17 from noon to 2 p.m. at Grace Fellowship, 2974 U.S. Highway 281 South.
All-you-can-eat chili and homemade cobbler is $5 per ticket, available at First Baptist Church office, Lampasas Builders Mart or Shooting Star Books & Gifts.
A silent auction will be held, with viewing to begin at 11 a.m. All proceeds will benefit Lampasas Mission, a non-profit Christian community service for Lampasas County.
