Sub-Varsity Football
Lake Travis nips JV White, 27-22

The LHS junior varsity White Team took Lake Travis down to the wire on Thursday.

The Cavaliers had to march the field in the waning minutes to capture a 27-22 win after LHS took a 22-21 lead on Astin Murray's 13- yard run with four minutes to play. Murray connected with Rush Seaver on the go-ahead two-point play.

Murray's arm produced the other two Badger touchdowns. He hooked up with Zach Radenz on a 36-yard score in the first quarter and again with Radenz on a 44- yard score in the second quarter.

"We had some chances but could not get it done," LHS coach Stephen Hermesmeyer said.

"Our kids played their hearts out today, and that's all we can ask of them. It was just a great football game."

Vista Ridge JV 27, LHS Blue 0: Cedar Park Vista Ridge jumped out to a 21-0 halftime lead on its way to a convincing victory on Thursday.

Lake Travis 9th 41, LHS 9th White 14: The Cavaliers took a 13-0 first-quarter lead and held off the Badgers in Lampasas Thursday.

Blain White scored both touchdowns for LHS, the first on a 60- yard pass from Ryan Peter and the second on a 1-yard run.

Hill Country 7th 34, LMS 7th Blue 7: Jake Terry gave LMS the early lead with a 1-yard touchdown run, but Hill Country came storming back to register a home victory.

The Badgers produced a rare return of a point-after attempt with three players combining on the 95- yard return, which was cashed in by Marcus Kehoe.

Hill Country 33, LMS 7th White 6: Chris Argo broke loose for a 60-yard touchdown run, but it wasn't enough as Hill Country took a 19-0 first-half lead on its way to a home win last week.
