      Hanna Springs Intermediate School's Scholastic Book Fair is Oct. 29-Nov. 2. Hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m. to noon Friday. Family night is Oct. 30 from 5- 7 p.m. with refreshments, door prizes and other activities.

Bench dedication
      Lampasas High School junior class officers attended a recent bench dedication at the middle school campus in honor of two students, Matthew Hollister and Sajid Saulat, who died in 2005. Both were members of the LHS Class of 2009.

      The GFWC/TFWC Pierian Club met for its monthly meeting Oct. 9 in the home of Joan Milam, with Bobbie Joseph and Virginia Dodd as hostesses. Twenty members were present. Mary Black Davis gave the invocation to open the meeting. Kim Garrett led the pledge to the flag.
