Addressing the truth, not rumors about players
We are not sure if J. Sanchez's letter ("Rules apply to everyone," Oct. 9 letters) was about being dissatisfied with some of the rules concerning the football program at LISD and the way the rules are enforced, or if it was a personal attack on a student athlete who made a mistake.

Sports complex: another neglected project for city?
Now we are going to build a sports complex. It is a pretty picture in the newspaper. How long will it take before it looks like our great Hanna Springs, with a sad barbed wire fence built around it,

Authorities will assess proper punishment
I fail to see the relevance of rules imposed on elementary school students at football games to the summertime DWI arrest of a varsity football player ("Rules apply to everyone," Oct. 9 letters). I read about the arrest like most readers, but I never read about a conviction in this case.

Voters of Lampasas County: On Tuesday, Nov. 6 you are being asked to vote for or against 16 Texas state constitutional amendments, and for or against the funding for a new county jail. I strongly urge you to study these issues carefully before going to the polls, as these choices may be very confu...

Kindness extended
We were invited to go watch a football game Oct. 2 between a school from Austin and Lampasas schools. I sat on the bench and after sitting there for 20 minutes, it was getting too painful, and I started walking down the ramp and back to the bench several times.
