Successful hunt
Hal Harton harvested near Rumley what is believed to have been one of the largest bucks taken in the county in freeranging, low-fence archery. On opening weekend of bow season, Harton used a Mathews bow with Gold Tip arrow and a Muzzy 100-grain broadhead at 16 yards. He netted 15 scoreable points. The unofficial Boone and Crockett gross score was 175; the unofficial net score, 173 3/8.
