Former Badger football players lead college teams this weekend Five Lampasas High school graduates are scheduled to see action in college football games on Saturday. Eastern New Mexico University at West Texas A&M: Junior quarterback Keith Null has his WTAMU Buffaloes ranked No. 9 in the country heading into this regional rivalry with East New Mexico, scheduled to start at 6 p.m. in Canyon. Last week, Null led the Buffaloes (6-0 overall, 4-0 in the Lone Star Conference, 2-0 in the LSC South) to a 25-20 road win against No. 12 Midwestern State. Null leads NCAA Division II with 22 touchdown passes. He's second in passing yards per game at 352.5. Trinity University at DePauw University (Ind): Junior receiver Chris Coleman's Trinity squad is coming off its first loss of the season, a 27-13 upset at Rhodes College (Tenn.) last week. No. 12 Trinity (4-1, 1-1 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference) will try to rebound on the road against DePauw at 1 p.m. Coleman has caught 19 passes for 295 yards and a touchdown on the season. Louisiana College at University of Mary-Hardin Baylor: The Crusaders are flying high, carrying a No. 2 national ranking into this 6 p.m. game in Belton. The Crusaders (5-0, 4-0 in the American Southwest Conference) are coming off a 47-14 road win over Hardin-Simmons University. Sophomore linebacker Kristen Leverett has recorded 17 total tackles, including 1.5 sacks on the year. His defensive back brother, Kirsten, has two tackles on the season. Louisiana-Monroe at University of North Texas: The Mean Green is still looking for its first win of the year in this 6 p.m. affair in Denton. The Mean Green (0-5, 0-2 in the Sun Belt Conference) is coming off a 38-29 loss at Louisiana-Lafayette. Junior receiver Brock Stickler has caught 15 passes for 172 yards and a touchdown. |
