Garden club begins monthly meetings
      With 15 members present, L-M Garden Club of Lometa resumed regular monthly meetings with the serving of refreshments provided by hostesses Sue Shepperd, Janie Potts and Joyce Hightower.

Cross country runners place well at meet
      Lometa cross country runners ran on their home turf at Lometa Regional Park in their most recent meet. "This is the first year to hold a meet at the park," said Coach Brandy Eckermann. "We had a lot of fans show up, and it was a big success.

Raffle, cookout slated
      Lometa fireworks raffle drawing and cookout is set Saturday at 4 p.m. at Lometa Regional Park. A meal will be served at 3 p.m., and donations are accepted. Tickets for the raffle are at the 19th Hole, Lometa Tire or at the Lometa park by 4 p.m.

Lions to cook pancakes
      Lometa Lions Club will hold its annual pancake supper tonight. Serving is from 5-7 p.m. at the school cafeteria. Tickets are $4 for adults, and $2 for those 12 and under, and are available from any Lions Club member or at the door.
