Seminar offered on violence prevention

The Children's Advocacy Center is hosting training Oct. 18 on primary prevention of sexual violence. Participants may attend the "Sexual Violence Prevention: Beginning the Dialogue" training from either 8:30 a.m. to noon, or 1-4:30 p.m. at the Burnet Community Center, 401 E. Jackson St.

Presenters are nationally recognized experts Annette Burrhus-Clay and Morgan Curtis. Ms. Burrhus-Clay is the executive director for Texas Association Against Sexual Assault, and Ms. Curtis is the primary prevention coordinator for the Austin-based state association.

Licensed master social workers, licensed professional counselors and law enforcement will receive continuing education credits for the free seminar.
