Angelo State to offer new graduate program

Angelo State University, now a part of the Texas Tech University System, is offering a master of education in guidance and counseling for those interested in a career as a public school counselor.

Information sessions on the new program are set from 6-7:30 p.m. Oct. 16 at Texas Tech at Highland Lakes, 806 Stephen Hawkins Pkwy. in Marble Falls, and on Oct. 17 at Texas Tech at Fredericksburg, 102 E. San Antonio St., Suite D.

Certified teachers can take the 36-hour program to prepare for school counselor certification. Most courses are online with a few classes delivered to the Texas Tech University sites in the Hill Country.

The program will begin with the spring semester. Application deadline is Dec. 1.

ASU offers Academic Excellence Graduate scholarships, as well.

Potential students are encouraged to attend an information session to learn more about the program from the ASU faculty.
