Who is judging; we have compassion I have been reading the articles written defending Dr. Patteson. Why do I keep seeing the words "Stop judging?" Who is judging? I don't know Dr. Patteson, only things I've heard about him through the 20 years I've lived here. All I've heard from his patients is what a great doctor he is and how much they like him. From some mutual friends I've heard how nice the family is, too. I do know Nancy, not real well but well enough to say I think she is a great lady. She is always friendly, always smiling. I really enjoy her company. So when I run into her in town or at the post office, I enjoy conversation with her. However, this story is news. I am so sorry they are going through this ordeal, but I think they are both strong people and will get past this. We all make mistakes. Most doctors are working way too many hours. They should all slow down. Dr. Patteson shouldn't worry about what anyone anywhere thinks about this. He has no reason to be ashamed or embarrassed. This is a great time to get help. We all fall short; we are all human. My prayers are with the Pattesons because I feel this has to be a hard time for them. But I say keep your heads up. Don't spend too much time thinking "I woulda, I coulda, I shoulda." Keep your faith. Trust God and go on with your lives. And to you, Mr. Lowe: Keep up the good work. You do a great job with your newspaper. I know you would never want to harm anyone. However, you have a job to do, and you do it well. Freida Holland P.S. I should think unless Dr. Patteson is ready to retire he won't allow pride to get in the way of doing what he loves -- taking care of sick people. Stand tall, shake off the dust and keep going. |
