Classics gathering

We have been gathering with our classics in the back parking lot of Storm's Drive-in for more than a year and a half now. The turnout has been awesome. There are a lot of people coming from out of town.

This is, as far as I know, the first continuous classic gathering in Lampasas. Well, except for the gathering on FM 580 or out toward the airport many years ago. As I was kindly reminded the other day, someone said, "When we saw a couple of cars headed out that direction, we'd follow 'cause you knew there was a race going on or maybe you might want to race." So as far as I see it, we are making history.

I am thankful for each and every one who comes to these gatherings. These are special and fun people to be around. I have grown to love the group. We talk a lot, and I love to talk -- just ask my husband or my coworkers at Storm's. The cruises have been a lot of fun. These gatherings are free events. Well, you've got to pay for your gas and upkeep on your classic. We are not a club; we are a group of all ages that gathers to show off our classics.

Now we are going to have our first car show in March of 2008. We are selling advertising on T-shirts and taking donations for plaques. There are several who have already helped us out, but for those who are interested in advertising or plaques you need to do so soon. We need to get started ordering soon.
