Tractor restoration
Lampasas High School Future Farmers of America students enrolled in ag mechanics courses are involved in tractor restoration efforts as part of the class curriculum and planned future competitions. Through the donation of a 1948 McCormack-Farmall tractor by James and Dorothy Briggs, students are restoring a classic hand-crank model H. The tractor restoration project was initiated by the late Jesse Henderson, a strong FFA supporter. Led by sophomore students, including Colton Baker, pictured, Justin Ankarberg and Tate Stoneham, ag mechanics students are repainting and renovating all of the tractor's components. Local mechanic Alvin Boberg donated his time and parts (rebuilt pistons and clutch plate) in preparation for the group's spring 2008 competition.
