When Stanley Walker gave up his exciting life as city editor of the New York Herald Tribune and returned to Texas in 1946, he restored this pioneer homestead that was standing on Walker land in northeast Lampasas County, now owned by Mary Casbeer. The local historical commission will seek to reclaim the memory of the county's early settlers in the production, "The Ghosts of Lampasas County," Oct. 23 at 7 p.m. at the county courthouse.
