JV gridders rally to tie Marble Falls

The Lampasas High School junior varsity football team played Marble Falls to a 21-21 tie Thursday at Badger Field.

The Badgers scored 14 unanswered points to close out the game and rally from a 21-7 deficit.

Marble Falls took a 14-0 lead in the second quarter, but Lampasas cut the margin to 21-7 on Tanner Mobley's 1-yard plunge and Aston Murray's successful point-after attempt.

Marble Falls upped its lead to 21- 7 in the third, but Murray connected with Gabe Terrell on an 8- yard touchdown pass to bring the Badgers within 21-13.

Mobley tied the game in the fourth period, scoring on a 14-yard run and punching in the two-point conversion run himself.

Mobley gained 60 of the LHS JV's 110 rushing yards, and Murray threw for 149. Zach Radenz caught two passes for 74 yards, Ronnie Branch had three receptions for 27, and Zach Bryant caught four for 23. Brandon Abbott had a 64-yard kickoff return.

Edward Grant led the defense with eight tackles. Rush Seaver had seven tackles, and Brodie Lemons recovered a fumble.

Burnet 25, LMS 8th Blue 8: Tanner Swinford's 10-yard touchdown run pulled the Badgers within 12-8 in the third quarter, but Burnet scored twice in the fourth quarter to ice the game.

The Blue team was looking for its second consecutive win after beating Gatesville 14-0 on Brandon Scott's two touchdown runs last week.
