Brownwood tops LHS tennis, 14-5 The Lampasas tennis team drew to a 5-5 tie at Brownwood Saturday before falling, 14-5. The girls' doubles team of Ashley Perkins/Kayla Krueger continued its hot streak by capturing a win in the No. 1 spot. The team of Ciara Salazar/Amy Johnson also won, and the tandem of Kristine Smith/Lillie Davis pulled out a victory in their first varsity doubles match. Salazar and Abby Peterson each scored a win in girls' singles. Peterson's win came at the No. 1 spot. "We worked hard on poaching and volley drills this week, and it paid off to start with," LHS head coach Kenneth Peiser said. "But they just could not keep the confidence going." LHS is scheduled to play at Pflugerville Hendrickson in a District 25-4A match today. |
