LHS announces school winners of Wendy's High School Heisman

Heath Cofield: Basketball and track.
Coleton Lucas, Heath Cofield, Molly Rogers and Allie Spivey were named the Lampasas High School winners of the Wendy's High School Heisman Award.

Awarded in conjunction with the collegiate Heisman, the Wendy's High School Heisman celebrates the achievements of the nation's top high school seniors on the field of play and in the classroom.

Jennifer Howard, Kayla Krueger, Justin Henderson, Clay Tyner and Stephen Eskola also were finalists for the LHS award.

The program consists of six phases: applicants, school winners, state finalists, state winners, national finalists and national winners.

Judging is based on ACT assessment coupled with on-field performance.

Lucas is a football, baseball and track participant. Cofield is a basketball and track athlete. Rogers is a cross country and track participant, while Spivey is a volleyball player.

"Coleton, Heath, Molly and Allie are future leaders, and will represent their school well in the next phase of judging," said Archie Griffin, the only two-time collegiate Heisman winner and spokesperson for the program. "I'm proud to be involved with an award that embodies the spirit of the Heisman tradition of hard work, dedication and an outstanding record both on and off the field."
