Brooks heads to AJPHA event

Lampasas FFA member Brandyl Brooks has continued to shine in the area of equine competition and leadership.

A junior at Lampasas High School, Brandyl is the daughter of Nancy and Roy Brooks of Lampasas County.

She is vice president of the American Junior Paint Horse Association and will attend the organization's leadership conference Oct. 5-6 in Louisville, Ky.

Brandyl continues to compete in horse events with "Gunsmoke Dixon," and has been an honor roll recipient for her rankings in both youth stake races and pole bending.

The FFA youth is a member of the Senior FFA Quiz Team, the LHS tennis team and will compete Nov. 5 at San Saba District FFA Leadership Development Contest in the job interview competition.
