Aycock to visit Lampasans
Aycock will be available to answer questions about issues relating to recent flooding, the legislative session and other constituent concerns. The 60-year-old legislator is a semi-retired veterinarian, rancher and businessman elected to the Texas House of Representatives in November 2006 to succeed fellow Republican Suzanna Hupp, who did not seek re-election. Aycock considers himself a strong proponent of property rights. He is a member of three House committees: agriculture and livestock, higher education and redistricting. He has introduced bills to revise and clarify funding formulas for higher education. Born in Bell County, Aycock was valedictorian for his Moody High School graduating class. He earned a bachelor of science degree with honors from Texas A&M University in College Station, as well as his doctor of veterinary medicine. Aycock was a captain in the U.S. Army from 1970-72 and earned an Army Commendation Medal. He has operated veterinary clinics in Killeen, Copperas Cove and Harker Heights, and has been involved in ranching and real estate development. A former Killeen Independent School District trustee, Aycock also was a director for the Greater Killeen Chamber of Commerce and past president of Harker Heights Chamber of Commerce. He and his wife, Marie, are the parents of two children and four grandchildren. For more information on Aycock's visit, contact his Austin office at (512) 463-0684. |
