State jail sentences given

In recent 27th District Court action with Judge Joe Carroll presiding, 21-year-old John Christian Wood was sentenced to four years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Institutional Division for indecency with a child, sexual contact.

Also receiving a four-year state jail sentence was Austin resident Serafin Miranda, 51, for driving while intoxicated and felony repetition. He was credited with jail time served.

Vincent Sanchez Garza, 22, of Copperas Cove was assessed a one-year term in state jail for evading arrest with a vehicle. Credit was given for time served.

An arrest warrant was issued and bond increased to $50,000 for Brownwood resident James L. Roberts, 30, who failed to show up for court. He is charged with hindering a secured creditor.

Glenn Wade Pruitt, 42, of Stephenville, charged with theft over $1,500 and under $20,000, received four years' deferred adjudication probation and a $1,000 fine. He also was ordered to pay restitution.

Two years' deferred adjudication probation was given to Jesse Raymond Kissell, 18, of Copperas Cove along with a $750 fine for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Also assessed two years' deferred adjudication probation was Arnold Eugene Marsh, 34, for fraudulent application for a Texas certificate of title. He received a $500 fine and must pay $4,920 in restitution.

Tricia Lynn Lopez, 27, of Lampasas was given two years' deferred adjudication probation and a $1,000 fine in recent court action. The state reduced the jail felony to a Class A misdemeanor. She was charged with possession of a controlled substance.

A motion to reduce bond was filed on behalf of Rhonda Lanette Kolanek, 34. The Arlington resident is charged with possession of a controlled substance.

The state dismissed a motion to revoke for Lisa Michelle Jackson, 24, of Lampasas on a charge of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

Jesus Gonzalez Jr., 30, is slated for arraignment Oct. 5 on his charge of driving while intoxicated and felony repetition.

Oct. 5 pretrials are slated for 40- year-old Lance Douglas Snyder for theft over $20,000 and under $100,000; Matthew Roy Thompson, 21, on a charge of aggravated assault/threat with a deadly weapon; and for Robert Younggreen, 24, of San Saba for possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine.

Oct. 12 pretrials are set for Rogelio Rivera, 24, for bond jumping and possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance; Edmund Glen Thornton, 40, for driving while intoxicated and felony repetition; Fredrick Lionel Miller, 49, for burglary of a habitation; Charles James Van Bibber IV, 23, for deadly conduct; Albert Alvarado, 26, of Lampasas for possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine; Joseph Eric Sutton, 30, of Lampasas for assault/ family enhanced; and for Candice Elizabeth Pabst, 23, for possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine.

In a case of driving while intoxicated with a child passenger, Jayne Caroline Boyle, 41, of Copperas Cove faces an Oct. 19 review.

San Saba resident Almond Gerod Lively, 41, is set for an Oct. 19 pretrial on his charge of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine.

Dallas resident Tania Peche, 20, is expected to enter a plea Nov. 9 for possession of a controlled substance, cocaine. A presentence investigation was ordered.

Punishment is set Nov. 9 for Isreal Arocha, 36, on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine. A presentence investigation was ordered.

Nathan McDaniel Jr., 52, of Kountze had his plea reset to Nov. 16 on a charge of theft of service.

And a jury trial is on the Nov. 26 docket for Lowell Preston Garza. The 18-year-old Lampasas resident is charged with injury to a child, serious bodily injury.
