The Lometa football team ran its winning streak to three straight by outscoring Iredell 16-7 in the fourth quarter of a 56-51 home win last Friday.

The Hornets (3-1) are scheduled to play at 12th-ranked May (4-0) today at 7:30 p.m. May is coming off a 38-28 win over Strawn.

"May will be a real test for us," Lometa head coach Wendell Bradley said. "They are returning most of their team from last year and have tremendous talent but not a lot of depth, so we're hoping to exploit that."

In the win against Iredell, the Hornets trailed 28-22 at the half and 44-40 at the end of the third quarter, but one of James Logsdon's two kickoff returns for touchdowns sparked the fourthquarter rally.

For the game, Logsdon returned three kicks for a 39-yard average and two scores. He also rushed eight times for 20 yards, caught a 12-yard pass and recorded three tackles.

Lometa racked up 315 total yards but allowed 379. Logsdon's kick returns, along with another from Eric Belyeu, and three Iredell turnovers made the difference.

Quarterback Joe Michael Rivera carried for a team-high 65 yards and a touchdown, and completed 7 of 18 passes for 166 yards and another score, a 29- yarder to Brandon Faubion.
