Lometa edges Iredell in high-scoring grid contest

      The Lometa football team ran its winning streak to three straight by outscoring Iredell 16-7 in the fourth quarter of a 56-51 home win last Friday. The Hornets (3-1) are scheduled to play at 12th-ranked May (4-0) today at 7:30 p.m. May is coming off a 38-28 win over Strawn.

      Stitches from the Heart needs volunteers to knit, crochet or quilt blankets and sweaters and hats for babies in need. Items are donated to hospitals across the country. Patterns are available. Donated yarn is needed for seniors' and children's knitting programs.
