GFWC begins new club year

Twenty members of the TFWC/ GFWC 36 Club met at the Yumm Factory for a brunch on Sept. 13 to initiate the new club year. New member Kay Boone was welcomed.

President Crystal Hammett presided. Dues will be raised to $35 for the next club year. The club voted to amend Article VII of the bylaws to read $25 instead of $15.

Hostesses were members of the Social Committee, Gail Callahan, Martha Green, Kay Boone, Ellen McFarland, Kay Briggs and Jane Shrader.

Next meeting is Oct. 11 at the Green Frog at the historic Hostess House. Hostesses will be Beverly Wood, Linda Hutcherson and Virginia Blaylock.

The program will center around HOBY student Erin Liverman and Janet Melton's UIL oral readers.

Club members are asked to note the change in meeting location.
