Local 4-H program getting under way
Lampasas County youth who are at least 9 years old are invited to join 4-H. Currently under way is the most popular 4-H project, Foods and Nutrition. It kicks off with "Let's Get Grillin," this Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Lampasas County Office Building.
The workshop is for all new and current 4-H members, their parents and other family members interested in learning about grilling.
Enrollment forms for 4-H are available at the office of Texas Cooperative Extension at 409 S. Pecan; at Hanna Springs Intermediate School's office; or from 4-H Club managers.
Forms must be submitted by Wednesday to be entered into the 2007-08 database and receive 4-H newsletters about upcoming events.
The organization offers opportunities to develop leadership, good citizenship and new friendships with other 4-H members throughout the county, area and state. A family-friendly organization, 4-H encourages family involvement in many of its activities.
Any adult who has a hobby or interest in any of the group's projects can contact the Extension office about volunteer opportunities.
