Tabloid journalism

When a person suffers pain they require treatment, not some self-righteous hatchet job. Addiction to prescription pain killers is not self-inflicted when it results from medical treatment for pain. It is disease and should be treated and respected as such.

If you have ever suffered real pain, you know you may have to take risky medication because pain demands it. People who devote their lives to helping others should be given the respect they are due and not be subject to a story that is much, much more confusing than informative.

If this is what passes for journalism, then it is no better than supermarket tabloids.
