Cattle Auction

The report from the Sept. 19 sale at Lampasas Cattle Auction is as follows.

Cattle and calves: Estimated receipts 1,033 compared to 943 last week and 876 last year. Feeder steers and heifers $3-$5 lower. Slaughter cows and bulls steady.

Bulk supply medium and large 1- 2 300 lb. to 750 lb. feeder steers and heifers. Feeder steers and heifers accounted for 75 percent and slaughter cows and bulls 25 percent of the run. In the feeder supply, steers made up approximately 70 percent of the run and heifers 30 percent. Steers and heifers over 600 lbs. totaled 25 percent.

Feeder steers: Medium and large frame 1, 300-400 lb., $125-$135; 400-500 lb., $116-$127, few to $1.35; 500-600 lb., $105-$118; 600-700 lb $97-$110; 700-800 lb. yearlings, $90-$105.

Medium and large frame 2, 300- 400 lb., $110-$125; 400-500 lb., $105-$115; 500-600 lb., $95-$104; 600-700 lb., $91-$101; 700-800 lb. yearlings, $80-$90.

Medium and large frame 3, 400- 500 lb., $96-$105.

Feeder heifers: Medium and large frame 1, 300-400 lb., $115- $125; 400-500 lb., $114-$124; 500-600 lb., $99-$111; 600-700 lb., $95-$103; 700-800 lb. yearlings, $95-$103.

Medium and large frame 2, 300- 400 lb., $105-$115; 400-500 lb., $100-$108.

Slaughter cows: breakers, 75-80 percent lean, 1,200-1,600 lb. high dressing, $45-$47.50; boners, 80- 85 percent lean, 1,200-1,600 lb., average dressing, $46-$51; boners, 80-85 percent lean, 1,000-1,200 lb., average dressing, $43-$53; lean, 85-90 percent, 1,000-1,200 lb., low dressing, $40-$46.

Slaughter bulls: Yield grade 1- 2: 1,500-1,900 lb., $58-$63; high dressing, 1,700-2,100 lb., $66; low dressing, 1,300-1,900 lb., $52-$56.
