      Hay producers in Lampasas, Burnet and Llano counties are encouraged to enter the Central Texas Hay show Oct. 18 at the Burnet County Fair Barn. Participants will receive a free protein analysis of their hay, helping them compare to other area producers and prepare for winter supplemental feeding.

      The report from the Sept. 19 sale at Lampasas Cattle Auction is as follows. Cattle and calves: Estimated receipts 1,033 compared to 943 last week and 876 last year. Feeder steers and heifers $3-$5 lower. Slaughter cows and bulls steady.
