Jail Ministry plans banquet

Board and committee members of J.A.I.L. Ministry Inc. met recently at the home of Linda Ringler, coordinator, to plan for the annual fund-raising banquet set Oct. 23 at 6:15 p.m.

Speaker is Mamie McCullough, PhD, known as the "I Can Lady." She has worked with Zig Zigler for 10 years and is a popular motivational speaker.

The ministry, which began with weekly cellblock evangelism 17 years ago as a vision of the late Chaplain Harold Ellis, has grown to include Bible studies in the Bell County Jail, Right Turn Youth Academy and two new units of the Texas Youth Commission. Hundreds of volunteers are involved in all aspects of the ministry.

Corporate, church and individual table sponsors are being contacted by Lou Nichols and Jeannette Kelley. Table sponsorships are available at $1,000, $500 or $250. Individual tickets are $15 each or $120 for a table of eight.

Phone (254) 933-8506 for more information or to become a sponsor.
