Family reunion set Saturday

Descendants and friends of the O'Hair, Wolf and Ramsdell families will gather for a reunion Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. at the Lampasas Senior Center, Eighth and Live Oak streets.

Among the early settlers in the Lampasas and Burnet areas were the families of Thomas O'Hair, Eugene Ramsdell, Jacob Wolf, Thomas "Hop" Hopkins Wolf, William Standifer and Anderson Nicks.

Many descendants of the early settlers of Lampasas and Burnet continue to live in this area of Central Texas, while others have scattered to various points.

These families formed many small communities within Lampasas, Burnet and Bell counties, with boundary lines changing more than once.

They produced farmers, ranchers, cattlemen, overland trailer cattle drivers, school teachers, preachers, sheriffs, bankers, store clerks, postmasters, a judge, a Texas state legislator and many of the other trades it took to settle the old West.

A potluck lunch will be offered. For information, phone 556-5756 or e-mail corbinmail@yahoo.com.
