Mrs. Harris

Star resident Mildred Harris died Sept. 17, 2007, at Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple. She was 77.

Funeral services were Sept. 20 at Stacy-Wilkins Funeral Home Chapel at Goldthwaite with Pastor Terry Jackson officiating, assisted by Pastor Dayton House. Burial followed at Hurst Ranch Cemetery at Star.

Mrs. Harris was born April 20, 1930, in Fort Worth, to Charles Ludwig and Winnie Davis Garrett Rickel.

She married Warren Harris on July 14, 1990, in Waco.

Mrs. Harris was a homemaker and a member of Goldthwaite Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband of Star; two sons and their wives, Ronnie and Martha Beard, of Sweetwater, and Jesse and Mary Anna Beard, of Lometa; three daughters and their husbands, Teresa and Jerry Lewis, of Fairview Community, Patty and Donald Steffy, of Brownwood, and Brenda Kay and Bobby Dowell, of Spicewood; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Beard, and by a brother and his wife, Rick and Hatie Rickel.
