A Bryan man faces drug charges after rear-ending a Lampasas man Friday near the intersection of U.S. 190 and County Road 3080.

Ernest Aaron Slade of Bryan, driving a westbound 1998 Honda Accord, hit Stephen Douglas Evans, the driver of a 1994 Buick Park Avenue, about 4:30 p.m. just past the entrance to the Cripple Creek subdivision. Evans had stopped because a school bus parked on the east shoulder was unloading students.

"I think I've got every bit of it on tape," said Constable Gordon Nelson, who was at the scene when the bus stopped to unload.

Slade was arrested for marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Evans was transported by ambulance to Metroplex Hospital in Killeen for "non-incapacitating injuries," Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Michael Tatum said.

Tatum and Trooper Allen Meyer prepared the accident report.
