FB promoting Constitution Week
Lampasas County Farm Bureau is promoting National Constitution Week in Lampasas County. Officials of the local Farm Bureau encourage all Americans to affirm their rights and responsibilities as citizens and to learn more about their constitution.
More than two centuries after the signing of the Constitution, members of the Lampasas County Farm Bureau are reminding citizens that the Constitution is the source of the freedoms all Americans enjoy.
National Constitution Week, Sept. 17-23, is dedicated to honoring the Constitution and teaching Americans how and why this important document works.
On Sept. 17, 1787, delegates to the Constitutional Convention met for the last time to sign their creation, what is now the oldest written and actively used document in the world. "We hope everyone in Lampasas County takes a moment to think about the miracle of freedom this Constitution made possible in America," said Barney Groves, county Farm Bureau president. "Tell your children about it and reaffirm your allegiance to the country and Constitution."
