Mrs. Morton

Graveside services for Mary Elizabeth Morton, 92 of Bastrop were Sept. 15, 2007, at Hillsdale Cemetery at Izoro.

She died Sept. 13, 2007, at Lakeside Hospital in Bastrop.

Mrs. Morton was born June 6, 1915, in Anson, the daughter of Andy and Nina James King.

She married Leonard William Morton on July 7, 1934.

Mrs. Morton was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She enjoyed quilting.

Survivors include four daughters, Ellen Fegett, and husband, Oscar, and Marcia Morton, all of Midland, Jeane Roye, and husband, Monte, of Lafayette, La., and Retta Morris, of Bastrop; three sisters, Ruby Davis, of Iraan, Lois Noble, of Largo, Fla. and Vi Stahl, of Abilene; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband and by two sons, James Leroy and Glen Keith Morton.

The family requested memorials be made to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Genealogy Society Department.
