Lifetime Lampasas resident Ruth Frances Haynie died Sept. 16, 2007, at Rollins Brook Community Hospital in Lampasas. She was 95.
Funeral services are Sept. 18 at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Lampasas with Dr. Rick Willis officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas. Family visitation is from 1:30-2:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church prior to the service.
Mrs. Haynie was born March 25, 1912, in Lampasas, the daughter of J.H. and Willie Bridgers Waggoner.
She attended local schools and married Walter Watkins Haynie on June 30, 1935, in Lampasas.
Mrs. Haynie had worked for the Lampasas Independent School District as lunchroom manager, retiring after 42 years of service.
Upon retiring, she began volunteering at Rollins Brook Community Hospital, where she served for 20 years.
Mrs. Haynie was a member of First Baptist Church in Lampasas where she had perfect Sunday School attendance for 55 years.
Survivors include one son, Walter Haynie, and wife, Carolyn, of Lampasas; four grandchildren, Barry, Cara, Carla and Bryan; and seven great-grandchildren, Roman, Jennifer, Reilly, Taylor, Alex, Sarah and Jordan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, by three sisters and one brother.
The family requested memorials be made to Rollins Brook Community Hospital.
