LHS spikers return home after two-match road trip

The LHS volleyball team returns home to play Cedar Park Vista Ridge tonight after two consecutive District 25-4A road games.

The Lady Badgers (8-13, 0-3) lost 25-18, 25-20, 25-17 at Hendrickson last Friday and 25- 17, 25-17, 23-25, 25-17 at Burnet on Tuesday. Tonight's match against Vista Ridge is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. to accommodate Vista Ridge's homecoming.

"Against Hendrickson, we played well at all three levels," first-year LHS coach Tracey Myers said. "Their coach came up to us and said, "Your team looks so much better than it did last year. What happened?'"

The Game 3 win against Burnet was the Lady Badgers' first of the district slate.

"I thought we hung with them the first two games and played much better in Game 3," the coach said. "We just had some communication problems on the back row that cost us."

Vista Ridge is ranked No. 16 in the Texas Girls Coaches Association Class 4A poll.

"The girls are playing well, and I'm confident we'll hold our own against a ranked team," Myers added.
