Smith earns college degree

Christopher Smith
The University of Houston held spring commencement exercises on May 11, 2007.

Christopher John Smith of Houston earned a PhD in history.

He holds a bachelor of arts degree in history from Texas A&M University where he was Infantry Band Commander.

Smith also holds a master of arts degree in history from the University of Houston.

A 1983 Friendswood High School graduate, Smith is the son of John R. and Judy Smith of Lampasas.

He is the grandson of the late Jessie Standard O'Neal and the great-grandson of the late William W. and Lucile Standard, all of Lampasas.

Smith and his wife, Margaret, live in Houston where he is employed by the law firm of Johnson, Spalding, Doyle, West and Trent. In addition, he recently accepted adjunct teaching positions with Houston Community College and Le Tourneau University.
